AHI TUNA STEAK MADE SIMPLE
Ahi tuna steak is best when cooked fresh, but frozen Ahi is also a wonderful choice and fairly easy to find. What makes this recipe perfect for a busy lifestyle is how quickly you can create a healthy meal that tastes fabulous.
Yellowfin is often marketed as Ahi, from the Hawaiian ʻahi, a name also used there for the closely related bigeye tuna.
INGREDIENTS
- Ahi Tuna Steak (fresh or frozen)
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Lemon Pepper
DIRECTIONS
- Thaw steaks if using frozen.
- Grease a fry pan with extra virgin olive oil.
- Heat to medium heat.
- Add the salt, pepper and lemon pepper to steak while it’s cooking.
- Cook each side for 3 minutes for a rare steak (4 minutes for a medium steak).
TIPS
- Don’t overcook – center should be pink or red for best results
- Serve with soy sauce or fish sauce
