MALLORY HENRIKSON 8.16.1990 – 4.9.2012

On May 11th 2010, Mallory (age (19) was told she has Leukemia. As heart wrenching as it was, Mallory came home from college in California to start treatment at the UW Hospital in Madison.

After 7 months of chemo, mouth sores, blood transfusions and platelets she was told she was in remission. So Mallory packed up and went back to California to continue school. But sadly in November of 2011 Mallory was told that the cancer was back.

So once again she came home for treatment. With family and friends by her side and a positive attitude Mallory started the treatment to fight the cancer that was once again taking over her body.

After chemo and radiation she was able to have a bone marrow transplant at the end of January 2012. The transplant did work, she started to produce new healthy white blood cells. We were all so happy. But sadly on April 9th 2012, Mallory passed away from complications with pneumonia.

Mallory’s dream was to become an RN so she could help others like herself dealing with Leukemia. Mallory herself cannot do this. So we, her family and friends are going to do whatever we can to help make her dream come true. The Light the Night Walk is one of the ways we continue in her memory. So please help us make Mallory’s dream come true.
