Position Summary

Viking Village Foods is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Meat Cutter / Stocker to join our Meat Department team. This role plays a key part in delivering fresh, high-quality meat products while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities include preparing, packaging, pricing, and stocking meat products, as well as maintaining a clean, safe, and organized department.
No prior meat-cutting experience is required—we are willing to train the right candidate who is motivated, reliable, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful customer service while assisting with meat department needs
• Cut, prepare, wrap, package, weigh, label, and price meat products accurately
• Stock and rotate meat department products to ensure freshness and proper presentation
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all work areas
• Safely operate meat department equipment and tools
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures
• Assist with general department tasks as needed
• Any duty assigned by management

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual, and dependable
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Basic math skills for weighing and pricing products
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated cutting rooms and storage areas
• Ability to follow sanitation and food safety requirements
• Must be 18 years of age or older to operate department equipment
