Viking Village Foods is a locally owned and operated grocery store committed to providing quality products and excellent customer service. Our bakery is a key part of our store, offering fresh, delicious baked goods daily. We’re looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Bakery Associate to join our team!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, bake, and package a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and desserts.
- Assist customers with orders, special requests, and product recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following food safety and sanitation standards.
- Monitor product quality and ensure freshness of all baked goods.
- Stock and display bakery items attractively to promote sales.
- Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals
- Register and cash handling

- Any other task assigned by Bakery Manager, Store Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food service setting preferred but not required.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Able to withstand Cooler and Freezer temperatures
- Verbal and written communication skills

Accounting Specialist
Purpose:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Specialist will assist in supervising staff to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget activities. The Accounting Specialist will have contact and work closely with the firm’s Financial Controller/Office Manager, department heads, store managers and owners which will require strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
- Work with the Financial Controller to ensure accurate and timely monthly and year-end closes
- Assist the Financial Controller in the daily banking requirements, as a backup to processes
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions
- Supports budget and forecasting activities
- Weekly Sales & Labor Reporting
- Daily Click & Go reconciliation
- Daily/weekly/monthly recording of Bronco’s sales activity; recording monthly journal entries; updating inventory prices for food & bar items
- Calculations of inventory and gross margins when physical inventory counts are completed at each business
- Other monthly GL account reconciliations/verifications and corresponding journal entries for each business
- GL account tracking of activities for specific accounts that are required for year-end financial and/or tax reviews
- Accounts Receivable for leases & billboards
- Intercompany/interdepartment transfers of resale items/supplies/etc (spreadsheet and corresponding journal entries)
- Assist with requesting W9s as needed from vendors throughout the year and 1099 reporting at year-end
- Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
- Responds to inquiries from the Financial Controller and company-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the businesses and offices
- Keep asset list up to date and accurate; tracking of acquisitions and disposals within Fixed Asset Tracking spreadsheet; recording of monthly journal entries
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
- Assist with the opening of new business locations
- Any other duties that will make sure that the company financial information is reported at its BEST
- Assist the HR department and learn how to process payroll as a backup
- Assist our Accounts Payable and learn how to process payables as a backup
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger accounting.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant Accounting experience required.
- Applicant can work independently and within a team setting
- Able to assist on the floor, if needed

Position Summary:
The Deli Associate provides excellent customer service by preparing, slicing, weighing, packaging, and labeling deli products. This position ensures that food safety, sanitation, and quality standards are maintained while creating a friendly and efficient shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, answer questions, and provide knowledgeable assistance with deli products.
- Slice, cut, weigh, wrap, and price meats, cheeses, and other deli items accurately.
- Prepare and maintain deli cases with fresh, appealing, and properly labeled products.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper storage, cleaning, and rotation of products.
- Operate deli equipment (slicers, ovens, fryers, scales, etc.) safely and responsibly.
- Assist in preparing deli trays, hot foods, salads, and other specialty items.
- Monitor product freshness and quality; remove and properly dispose of outdated items.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including counters, cases, and equipment.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including dress code, attendance, and workplace safety.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times to enhance the overall shopping experience.
- Any other duty assigned by the Manager
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for weighing, pricing, and handling transactions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs. for extended periods.
- Must be at least 18 years old
Work Environment:
- Frequent exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
- Requires standing for long periods and working with sharp equipment.
- Weekend availability.
