About Mallory & Project Warm Hugs \n×Remembering Mallory Helping Other's!\nWhy Project Warm Hugs? Watching our Goddaughter Mallory Henrikson fight two battles with Leukemia\, we noticed the blankets she received at the Children’s hospital provided her with warmth\, comfort and some consistency. After her death in 2012\, I decided to make blankets the week of my birthday and send them to the American Family Children’s Hospital for Easter gifts\, which became a yearly tradition. \nThe blankets are given as a random act of kindness. The interest shown was overwhelming. I soon had to look for a larger facility to host the events for those that wanted to share in this project. People purchased kits at Walmart and JoAnn Fabrics and would come to these events with bags full of blankets to tie. \nBecause of the increased interest and donations\, we were able to expand our efforts to include seven local hospitals on an as-needed /ongoing basis. Reedsburg Area Medical Center\, Mile Bluff Hospital in Mauston\, SSM Health/St. Clare in Baraboo\, Divine Savior in Portage\, Sauk Prairie Healthcare\, Gunderson St. Joseph’s Hospital Hillsboro\, The Wisconsin Children’s Hospital Foster program\, and Richland Hospital. I started this project to bless others\, little did I know the countless ways I would receive blessings along the way. The generosity of all our volunteers has been overwhelming. It takes a village and I’ve received a state! \nTeam Remembering Mallory is asking for you to help raise funds to help purchase supplies to make blankets for the young ones that are spending time in a medical facility. As a mother that has seen how one blanket can affect and make little one’s day. DESCRIPTION:Boy Scouts Clever Idea\nReedsburg Boy Scouts Troop 247 “Camping For Cans Box Camp”\nCamping for Cans is a yearly donation gathering event. Our local Boy Scout Troop 247 along with their leader\, Julus Paul will be braving the cold and camping out in front of our store. \nThey will be ‘begging’ for non-perishable items all day on Saturday through the night into Sunday. \nThey will sleep in cardboard boxes that they build. This is all done near the front entry of our store. \n \n \nThis is their Troop’s version of Scouting for Food and an opportunity to help stock the Reedsburg Food Pantry for the holidays and bring awareness of the homelessness in our area. \nAdd the date to your calendar and stop by with non-perishable items for donation. \nIf it’s easier\, our Scouts can even pick up donations from your home or business before November 8th.
